I bought the M-5230-M51 kit for my 89 LX 5.0 because this kit is listed to fit 86-93 LX 5.0 cars, and after talking to a Ford Racing tech was told it would indeed fit the 86-93 LX, among a few others years of mustang. Please be aware that this kit is over 2" too long for the LX (my car is dead stock), with the rear of the mufflers hitting the rear-end supports and the pipes hitting the rear end itself. Approximately 2" had to be cut from the piping forward of the mufflers in order to bring the mufflers far enough forward to not hit the rear end supports. Also, the hanger welded on to the passenger side muffler was welded on at a poor angle (causing the muffler to hand sideways and the tailpipe to come too close to the tire), so that had to be cut off and re-welded at the right angle also. I would not recommend this kit, it costs about $250, and for roughly $50 more you could get an Edelbrock #5646 catback and probably not have to deal with all the BS.

I have this exhaust on my '06 GT with a Paxton Novi supercharger and I think it is absolutely amazing! The sound is just perfect. Loud enough for everyone to hear yet civilized enough that if I roll up the windows I can barely here it!
I never thought Ford would have an exhaust that I liked over the FlowMasters!
