Pros: Construction & finish
Cons: Collector to stock exhaust fitment

First off....these are "off shore" headers. The headers I received were very well constructed. Welds were solid and even looking throughout. The stainless finish was excellent. The 14 gauge tubes and 3/8 flanges made for a heavy duty header. The tube openings on the flange were about 50% larger than stock. They fit to my stock heads just fine. Both sides went in without a problem. Driver side stock exhaust bolted right up and sealed very good. BUT, when it came time to bolt up the passenger side I had problems. Even after unbolting the entire stock exhaust system I just couldn't get a solid fit. It appeared as though the flange was off a couple of degrees from the stock header. Took it to my local muffler shop and found out that the stock exhaust pipe need to have the end flaired a bit more to make a solid fit to the colletor. The stock exhaust pipe also needed to be cut and about a 1" piece of tube was welded in because it was coming up short on that side. Cost me $175 for the whole deal.

I go into just about any header/exhaust project expecting things won't fit perfectly. I was not happy with the additional cost, but the headers looked great and were an obvious improvement over stock. I contacted Summit about the experience. They apologized and sent me a $100 Gift Certificate.

Although I wouldn't recommend this product to someone else, I still think it's a good header for the price even with the extra money I spent. Hopefully Summit will make some corrections to the product.
